Production

Final Project

For the production of the podcast we recorded it in the studio and used two microphones and a microphone stand, we also used a audio recorder. We filmed on a Wednesday at 12 till 3. The podcast lasted for 18 minutes and i edited it down to 9 minutes. I edited the podcast on abobe premier pro and added a background picture of the red army and inter city firms. In the podcast we talked about the firms and i asked questions we could both answer and talk about associated with the football firms. Dan who was the person i was debating with was telling me why he thought west hams firm was stronger than the firm i was backing which was the red army firm.

When editing i used the rack effect to make sure me and Dan were the same volume level because Dan was more loud and i was more quiet so it was quite hard to hear me when we were debating. I also made sure the left and the right frequency was the same because it sounded a bit uneasy to the ears and quite stressful to listen to but by playing with the rack effect i sorted it out.

Stuff to look back on

The delivery between the two of us was quite poor because we kept having to think of replies which i should of put in the script and I should of picked a better topic that football hooligans to talk about since Dan didn't know much about them. I had to cut quite a lot out because there were long silences where we were both sat thinking of how to reply the questions. The conversation should of been flowing with debates on football hooliganism. I didn't stick to the script because I thought the recording would have been worse. The podcast did manage to come out interesting and funny because we still had a lot to talk about but it was just the poor delivery which I had to fade on abobe audition.

Equipment list

2 Microphones
2 Microphone stands
1 Zoom recorder
2 Chairs
1 Table
1 SD card

Crew/cast list

Tristan-crew and cast
Dan- crew and cast
Tegan- crew
Jay- crew

We decided to do the podcast sitting down in the studio so we set it up on a table that me and Dan could sit opposite sides from each other. Firstly we set up the Microphone stands, secondly we attached the Microphones to the stands then lastly we plugged the wires from the microphones into the zoom recorder with the SD card put in the zoom. We made sure there were no ambient sounds that the microphones could pick up by testing them first and it sounded good so we decided to start recording the podcast.

  1. Much more information needed on what you did to produce the final podcast .
    1. There is no information on the way you decided each section of the podcast recording - or the way you set up the studio + a picture of the set up.
    2. You need to make an equipment list and indicate your cast and crew for the podcast - as you would for a video shoot.
    3. Information on the difficulties with the verbal delivery of the podcast is also quite poor:
"The delivery between the two of us was quite poor, there was a pause that should of been faded out which I will know for next time to double check. I had to cut a lot out since there were long pauses. I should of stuck to the script I did which i will do next time in future projects" Explain why it was poor, why you did not follow the script. Say how it should have been delivered etc.
